Well, despite the frontpage never being updated, we have actually done stuff since Mauradon.

On 10/9/05 Kalisto and I (Jarroll) did a Scholomance pickup raid. It was fun, even with the several deaths. The mage hat dropped. I rolled a 23, the other mage rolled a 59 (out of 200). I did get a new pair of boots. They weren't really and upgrade, more like moving from one stat to another. We did pick up several enchanting items for Kalisto to use in getting her last 17 points of enchanting.

Shortly after Scholomance finished off, Baelan, Kalisto, and I did a Baron run. There were four mages out of the 10 people, so things were a tad nuts. All in it was the fastest run I had ever been on as well as the first time for both Kalisto and Baelan. We picked up some more enchanting supplies and a small stash of greens.

Actually, as a priest, you can dictate who else to bring into the group. Healers are so needed you can say "Sure I'll go, but you also have to take my xyz, abc, and fgh class friends."

The problem with that is even if all of "MY people" are on, its only 6 out of the 10 that go through the dungeon.

The baron runs happen often enough that it really is cake walk once you get 2 healers and a tank in the raid. The run that Bae and Kal went on with me had 4 mages in it and we did the whole thing in just over half an hour. While I don't think any of us got the drops we needed, there were lots of items that dropped.

And that's why they need to quit making 20 to 40 man instances and make more 5 character ones.

I'm still not sure where they are aiming to be for the raiding crowd, but I've done that hardcore thing once with EQ, and I'm not sure I want to try it another way...

I guess it all comes back to us not having enough folks. It'd be different with a larger active guild - no chances of problems over loot that way.

but hey - we do great when we all get on and kick arse!
