So apparently Mike is too busy tramping across the countryside of Nevada to start a thread......

Friday night we ended up downtown for a Wedding. Downtown was its usual awful place to try and navigate.

Saturday I taught class all day. We did finish up a tad early and I managed to be home by 5:30 that evening. I then started working on my dad's laptop around 6:30 and didn't finish up with it until 3 am when I said I'm done. I finished it up Sunday morning though. ugh.

Sunday I was tired and ended up napping a good chunk of the day.

Weekend? What weekend?

Wow, what a week. I'm writing this in the Vegas terminal since I still have two and a half hours till my flight. So since I'm on my phone you will excuse the minimal paragraphs.

Tuesday: after finishing packing and getting what research I could think of out of the way, I had breakfast with m'Lady. My airport shuttle picked me up at 1235, and I was on my first flight at 3pm. Had a layover in Denver and lunch at panda express. The freaking airline (frontier) had a menu for salads and sandwiches but we were told by the attendants that none were in stock to be bought (wtf, for a four hour flight). I read The Hunger Games and Xone of Contention. Landed in Vegas at 7. Waited alone till 8 when the first person in our group arrived (Brian from Baltimore). We picked up one of the rental cars (dodge minivan) then grabbed four geocaches (our of seven that we looked for; at one, we even fie approached by a cop) as well as dinner from 'Raising Canes' (pretty good chicken fingers, amazing sauce).
When the others showed up(Spike, Eric, Jo, Beau, Jeremy, and Celida), we took them to one of the caches we had found, then we headed to the hotel to check in. we stayed at Sam's Town Casino.

Wednesday: we got up at 730, had breakfast at the buffet, then drive to the Hoover Dam. Spent two hours there, then went into Arizona to get a cache, then went to the Zombie Apocalypse store, Gold and Silver Pawn (as featured on the tv show Pawn Stars). Geocaching happened all along the way.

Thursday: we got up at five to leave by six to head out of vegas to Rachel, Nv. After a stopat jack in the box for breakfast, we made the 112 mile trip to the start of NV Highway 375: ET Highway! Gassed up, found a few geocaches elsewhere, and got on our way.
We started the highway at 839. We stopped in Rachel itself, 45ish miles north, after finding ET319, at 1144. Had lunch, left by 130, and cached up to 750, which we found at around 449. Then we made the ~45 mile g drive back to Rachel for dinner.
Did some more caches in 'town' up till sunset. After the sun went down we started a 51-cache trail in the shape of a spaceship... Burr had to stop early cause one of the guys hurt himself and we had to go back to the motel. Btw, the stars in the middle of the desert are fucking amazing. All told, someone calculated that we found 802 caches in one day.
The shower I took, after the dust baths we got, was glorious.

Friday: got up at 7 to eat @8, we left Rachel by 10. Got back up to start again at #751. By 1230 or so we got to #932ish, to turn off the highway onto an unpaved road. We got to #one thousand around 115, #1250 around 245, and #1500 by 430 or so. After taking pictures, we headed back to the highway, then headed to Tonopah for gas. Found one more cache before getting in the highway for Vegas.
Found out that minivans can go 110 and that anyone who gets passed in a minivan who is driving a camaro should donate their keys.
We got back to Vegas in record time: 212 miles in 2 hours 25 minutes.
Checked back into our hotel, took showers, got dinner, then I passed out by ten.

Saturday: we got up around 7, had brunch at the buffet (it was disappointing compared to the breakfast) then headed out caching and to wash the vans. After, we went to a mcds near the hotel for free wifi, then went over the house of one of our old eq buddies who attends the halloween party every year for a bbq.
After that, went to The Strip. We walked the Strip from 815 to 115, collecting caches, seeing sites.
Got back to the hotel around two.
While all this was happening, Eric rented a car separately at 7am, drive back to Rachel to finish yup a bunch if caches there, then headed to Utah to get a cache there. He got back around the same time we did:2am.

Sunday: breakfast and headed out to the california state line for a cache there, as well add 8 more in the area. Took a nap on the way back, but we stopped at the Pinball Hall of Fame, where we played some vintage pinball for an hour or so.
Back at the hotel, veged for a bit, went to the bowling alley in the casino, played some roulette (lost ten bucks), then we got back together to go to an event being held by the guys who actually created the ET highway trail.
After, went to Fremont Street then back to the hotel.

Monday: WIP. I'm the last to leave vegas, add my flight takes off at 11. So I'm trying to entertain myself.

Friday - found out Charla got the promotion from PM1 to PM2... YAY!

Saturday - Drove up to Dayton and took 2 exams, stopped by Toys R Us on the way home and wished I was a kid now instead of back then... sure, GI Joe and Star Wars actions figures were ok, but now there are just so many more accessories... there's also this huge C-130 gunship that I want to get Michael... so I can play with it, hehe... went grocery shopping, cooked Cajun Chicken for dinner
2 large onions chopped
1 red bell pepper chopped
1 green bell pepper chopped
1 bunch of parsley chopped
about a cup of chopped celery
bottle of moscato wine

season Chicken (don't care boneless, cut up fryer, it don't matter) with a little salt and pepper and place in casserole dish
cover with the vege mixture
drizzle a little olive oil all around it, not a lot, just as much as you like
open the bottle of wine, add a couple of dashes of Louisiana Hot Sauce and Worcestershire Sauce and mix it up, then pour over the chicken and veges, should come up just to the top of everything... doesn't have to drown it...

cook at 375 for 1.5 hours... serve over rice... I like mine a little soupy... so I use a bigger bottle of wine.

Sunday - church and English comp work...

After my plane was delayed over a half hour yesterday, I got picked up at the airport by m'Lady and her dad, and we went to a diner for dinner (yay Jersey food) and got home after midnight.

Now to see about logging 1600+ geocaches, sorting 700+ pictures, oh yeah and sleeping.

1500 geocaches, just on ET Highway alone. We probably picked up another 120 easy in Vegas and Rachel.
